Here is a good clip from the BBC on the Carmine Bee Eaters. Nothing to do with the Boise peregrines, but interesting nonetheless. These are beautiful birds. Watch the Monitor Lizard and the African Fish Eagle as they interrupt the bee eaters’ day. In my zoology classes, the laying of 1000’s of eggs was known as the “Shot Gun Effect” in order to guarantee the continuance of the species. It is a natural sequence of events. Enjoy.
