11 July – Fledge Watch

It was a pretty morning, but an exciting one! At about 0830, a micro burst came through and awakened the fire department. The foot hills got hit, as witnessed here. Awesome photo, but dangerous image. You can make out a plume of smoke. The red-orange sky is the sun being filtered through smoke from the Mountain Home area, 45 minutes east of Boise. The falcons, seemed to be aware of the situation – rain, thunder, lightning, winds – so they were “sitting tight”. Here are some photos. Enjoy!

Dad flies overhead in the dark skies.

Dad, lower left, and one of the chicks, upper right, sitting on the Cap One building.

The same chick in the breezeway on the NE corner of the building.
